Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actress best recognized for her role as Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue in which she was awarded an Emmy Award. She is also known for her roles in the drama series All My Children Philly CSI: Miami as well as Army Wives. Delaney is the daughter of an executive in the United Auto Workers who was also an auntie. Delaney has four older brothers. Although she was a child with a dream of becoming a journalist, it wasn't until the time of her high school days that she began modeling. When she moved from New York City and gaining experience as a commercial model and commercials in New York did she achieve her dream of becoming aspiring court reporters. Her first job as an actor was when she was a young, innocent girl in the soap opera All My Children. Delaney was in numerous of television shows, films and dramas after that. Contrary to her impressive professional career, Delaney's private life isn't as happy and prosperous. In the past, this talented actress struggled to overcome the effects of alcohol and two marriages that failed. She was divorced in 2005 and lost custody of the only child that she had.
